The trick
Give the cab and the funnel their own boxes stacked on top of the low boiler, so the roofline steps up, down, up. That step is what turns a plain box row into an engine.
What you will need
- 26 square tiles
- 1 triangle tiles
Step by step
1. Lay the frame
Put three squares flat in a row. This is the length of the engine.
2. Fold the body up
Stand the walls up all the way around the three squares, then rest one lid on the middle box for the boiler.
3. Build the cab
On the back box, build a small closed box for the driver's cab so it stands a head taller than the boiler.
4. Build the funnel
On the front box, build another closed box for the funnel, level with the cab.
5. Add the cowcatcher
Lay one triangle flat out the front, its wide edge on the engine and its point on the track.
