The trick
The carriages share a wall with each neighbour, so one row of squares becomes three rooms, and a single line of leaning roof panels runs the whole length as one unbroken ridge.
What you will need
- 29 square tiles
- 1 triangle tiles
Step by step
1. Lay the carriages
Put four squares flat in a straight line, touching end to end.
2. Fold the walls up
Stand the long side walls up, then a wall between each square so every carriage has its own room.
3. Roof the carriages
Over the three back squares, lean pairs of squares together into one long peaked roof, then close the far end with a triangle.
4. Cap the engine
Put a flat lid on the front square, then stand a small box on it for the funnel.
