The trick

Raise the four corner towers first so every wall run has two towers to lean on, then build the keep as its own free-standing tower in the middle of the yard.

What you will need

  • 41 square tiles
  • 6 triangle tiles

Step by step

  1. 1. Mark the four corners

Lay a square flat at each corner of a big square, a gap apart. These are the towers.

  2. 2. Raise the four towers

Stand four squares around each corner base to make four square towers.

  3. 3. Cap and point the towers

Lay a square on each tower, then lean a triangle on its outer edge for a pointed roof.

  4. 4. String the curtain walls

Fill the left, right and back gaps with two walls each. Leave the front open for the gate.

  5. 5. Build the keep in the middle

In the centre of the yard build a small two-storey tower on its own.

  6. 6. Roof the keep

Lean two squares into a peak on the keep and close the ends with triangles.
