The trick
The hull gets its angled sides for free: lay a wide three-square deck, drop one square below the middle, then fill the two corner gaps with right triangles so the hull tapers to a keel. The sail is a big triangle built from a square and two right triangles, its flat bottom edge resting on the deck.
What you will need
- 5 square tiles
- 4 right-angle triangle tiles
Step by step
1. Lay the deck
Put three squares in a row for the flat top of the boat, each sharing a full edge with its neighbour.
2. Shape the hull
Set one square under the middle of the deck, then fit a right triangle into each gap beside it so the sides slope down to a point.
3. Raise the sail
Stand a square on the deck, then add two right triangles climbing off it so the sail rises to a slanted point.
